RIP Michal Friedman

Hellsing OVA vs Hellsing Anime
A few hours ago, I had just watched the first, 50 minute episode of Hellsing OVA. I finished watching the anime yesterday. After watching all of the anime and one episode of the OVA, I will share my thoughts on how these two compare to each other so far. Please note that everything that follows is MY OPINION, so please, don't fry me over this.
The Hellsing OVA was created as a remake of the anime, and was also created with the intent of staying true to the manga, even more so than the anime that preceded it. That is not a bad thing. The Hellsing anime started off following the manga, then with the seventh episode to the final episode (which was the 13th... oh crap THE 13TH) it went off on it's own original storyline. Which wasn't bad. I kinda liked it. The OVA has made it its job to follow the manga more closely. Now... I've actually never read the Hellsing manga. However I will say that from what I've seen of the OVA, it seems that each episode is packed with several storylines. The first OVA episode spans three episodes of the anime (I'm not gonna spoil anything). Because of this, I thought things were rushed a little. But it was still enjoyable. The animation is, in my opinion, a step above the anime's. The music set the mood, however it isn't as memorable as Yasushi Ishii's score from the preceding anime. So right now, I prefer the anime more. I guess it's just because I'm a sucker for anime and TV shows in general where they start off walking and go into a run, which is what the anime does. The OVA starts off running, and it doesn't stop. But... I guess that's due to how many chapters the manga is currently spanning?
These are my views on Hellsing and Ultimate right now. As I watch more of the OVA I'll be sure to update this. If you haven't done so already, check these two shows out. Feel free to leave a comment below so your voice can also be heard.
